Motivating, Inspiring and Engaging Others
The full day workshop is designed for those who need to persuade, motivate and inspire others as well as to develop a sense of unity and purpose. In persuading others we need to be able to put forward convincing and rational arguments. We need to be able to articulate our thoughts and ideas so that the audience is able to understand and appreciate the values, knowledge and skills that we are attempting to impart to them. The workshop will also equip the participants with the ability to question the norm and challenge others in negotiation. The programme also focuses on how to tailor your communications to meet the needs and perspectives of others and emphasize the importance of using our own energy and sense of purpose to motivate and inspire others
Objective
- To learn how to put forward well-reasoned and well-articulated arguments and explanations
- To recognises the importance of preparation to ensure clarity and impact in our communication effort
- To develop confidence in challenging others and current practices, and be able to stand firm in negotiation
- To learn how to tailor communication to take account of others’ interests and perspectives

- Role play in selling an idea or product to an audience
- How to prepare for effective communication the CALM approach
- Persuasion Strategies - Emotional, Visual, Vocal and verbal techniques

- The 'Why' approach to challenging others, current practices and norms
- Practice session -Using the 'Why' approach to question current practices
- Listening skills questionnaire - To help us become more aware of others’ interests and perspectives

Profile of James Suresh
James is a multi-talented trainer and best-selling author. He has over 20 years of training experience. The co-creator of Singapore's comic icon 'Mr. Kiasu', James has written comic books and recently wrote and published a best-selling illustrated book on Singapore which has won two awards.
He is an accredited PR practitioner, a certified FISH trainer as well as an EQ Trainer with Six Seconds Inc (USA) an NLP practitioner, a certified teacher with NIE and MOE registered instructor and certified teacher with a certificate in education. James holds a Masters in Communication Management and a Bachelors in Business Administration.
James has been featured on news radio in the 'Positive Business Minutes' series and on Channel News Asia for his role in promoting community cohesion and interaction. He has also been featured in press advertisements promoting the Singapore Kindness movement.
