    It is increasingly important for leaders to know how to coach their staff if they wish to increase engagement and retention. Yet, many leaders face obstacles to coaching such as time constraints and wearing multiple hats. In this short course, leaders can acquire essential coaching skills that will enable them to coach their staff during the work day with the limited time available to them. They will also understand when they should be a coach, and when they should be a leader, as well as what are coachable moments they can capitalise on at work.

    Module 1: Understanding Coaching
    Understand what is coaching and how coaching differs from the other hats that a leader has to wear.

    Module 2: Benefits of Coaching
    Discover the benefits of coaching team members and why it is worthwhile for leaders to do so despite a busy schedule.

    Module 3: Coaching Opportunities
    Know when a leader should coach, and when a leader should not coach. Learn how to spot crucial opportunities to coach team members during a work day.

    Module 4: Essential Coaching Skills
    Acquire a 4-step coaching process e to coach team members effectively as well as essential coaching skills to complement the process.

    Module 5: Coaching Practice
    Practice the coaching process in different scenarios and appreciate how to apply the coaching skills at the workplace.

    Serene Seng's Profile
    Over ten years of interesting and dynamic work experiences in consulting and training, health and beauty industry, entrepreneurial business, construction and education services.

    In her last position as General Manager for an overseas management consulting firm, Serene specialised in organizational development for healthcare, wellness, fitness, and education industries as well as government ministries.

    She also designs and facilitates customized experiential programs and has been invited to speak by Singapore Telecoms, Land Transport Authority, Citibank, NTUC Income, and Ogilvy as well as interviewed by MediaCorp Radio and Singapore Press Holdings.

    Previously, Serene was Business Development Manager for a distribution company, developing the regional market for them. Prior to that, she was a Business Development Manager at an electrical engineering firm developing new initiatives for business opportunities in labour supply to be based in India. Her main focus on both assignments was building new markets for strategic operational development and business ventures in South East Asia.

    As an entrepreneur, she had her own consultancy seeing clients for health management issues. She also set up from scratch a consultancy company and brought its sales to seven figures in four years.
