Raising Adversity Quotient for Sustainable Performance
Being resilient is increasingly important in helping professionals to handle the demands of the rapidly changing environment and workplace. The mark of genuine success today is about how often we fail through attempts at achieving our goals. The tough gets going no matter how hard the trek may be. Such resilience is critical in the world of 21st century. The constant changes will not stop. Therefore, the stresses of constant adapting will continue to rise. Yet, this very act of adapting and engagement becomes the very opportunity for innovative work. There is no limit to what one could do when one could adapt well and surf the wave of changes. Thus, our investment in upgrading our capacity and stamina is extremely valuable. According to Kaplan (1999), resilience refers to the capacity of an individual to cope with stress, overcome adversity or adapt positively to change. It involves behaviours, thoughts, and actions. Research has shown that resilience can be developed and enhanced to promote greater well-being. This workshop aims to equip executives with techniques to develop resilience to cope and thrive in both their work and lives.
