    As a Police Officer I had to do this on a daily basis often when the emotional energy was so high, or drug induced, that one wrong word, one wrong body language gesture or even a ‘look’ could take someone from being verbally aggressive to physically aggressive.

    When I entered the corporate world as a leader and a manager, I found that the same components existed in all conflict situations.

    However, in the corporate world I found that they often confused the terminology with the components of the process, therefore making matters worse, and never finding an actual solution to the conflict. They focused on managing it, not solving it.

    For example. Corporate often confuse Conflict Resolution, with Conflict Management, Conflict De-escalation, and Conflict Negotiation. Managing, de-escalating and negotiating are components of Conflict Resolution, not the actual solution.

    From performance appraisal meetings, to workplace investigations, to staff discipline interviews, to mediating between staff members, the components don't change.

    So how do we confidently construct a solution to conflict?

    The good news:

    1. I have trained over 2,000 people across military, police and corporate in these skills using my live operational experience combined with a simple card game I invented called ‘The Conversation Card Game’;
    2. Conflict Resolution is a process that anyone can learn;
    3. You will look forward to conflict and challenges in the future as the fear of dealing with the conflict will be removed once you learn the process

    You must practice these skills!

    Dion Jensen as an ex-Soldier, ex-Police Officer and ex-Intelligence Manager, will take you through safe classroom techniques so that you can see which emotions are triggered during conflict.

    He will take you through the process one step at a time and then allow you to practice and find your personal flow during the workshop.

    You will become aware on how different people communicate, what triggers them and why, how to keep control of your own emotions and for the solutions to the situation to become clear as you follow the process.
    Objective
    By the end of the workshop you will be able to:
    • Employ Conflict De-escalation techniques to create a safe environment
    • Employ Conflict Management Skills to create the environment to negotiate
    • Employ Conflict Negotiation skills to begin constructing the Conflict Resolution Plan
    • Utilise Tactical Communication to direct the above points
    • Utilise Effective Communication to achieve the above
    • Enjoy the process without fear!
